Tahmeena I. Ahmed, Esq.

Tahmeena Ahmed is a senior equity partner and the firm’s Executive Managing Partner for Client Relations (CMO). She also serves as the head of the marketing team which comprises 5 talented individuals. She oversees these key players who in total have over 100 years of workers’ compensation experience and jointly provide added value through the firm’s multi-level platform of resources. The firm conducts all marketing in-house. As CMO, Ms. Ahmed manages the supply of value-added resources to more than over 350 firm clients.

For the past 9 years, Ms. Ahmed has focused on the practical application of the management of Bradford & Barthel relationships. She has created and instituted the Account Manager program at the firm, which leverages the relationship built by the ground level attorney with the adjuster. She then propels this relationship upward through supervisor, branch/claims manager, broker, reinsurance and ultimately, employer. She is heavily involved in ensuring the proper contacts/relationship values and expectations are set and met as soon as the account is established within B&B. As a senior equity partner, she has full authority to address all issues on behalf of the firm.

Ms. Ahmed received her Bachelor of Arts degree as a member of the Honors College, majoring in Psychology, from the University of Illinois, Chicago. After earning an American Jurisprudence Award in Torts, an Academic Achievement Award in Employment Law, and her Juris Doctorate from California Western School of Law in San Diego in 1992, she practiced entertainment, civil, and bankruptcy law. She joined Johnston & Auerbach in 1994 as in-house defense counsel for Fremont Compensation Insurance Company.

Focusing on Fremont’s “zero tolerance” policy, she spent the next four years aggressively litigating thousands of cases and brought that expertise to Bradford & Barthel, LLP in July of 1998. Ms. Ahmed became Managing Attorney for the Tarzana office in December of 2000. She was then named Partner in April of 2002. During her approximately 12 year tenure as the managing attorney, the Tarzana office flourished, growing from 2 to 24 attorneys, making this office one of the largest and most experienced in the firm. Leaving behind the day-to-day operations of managing Tarzana in 2011-2012, she was named Managing Partner, Client Relations, bringing more global oversight to her role.

Recently, she was invited to be an integral part of the UCLA 2019 Lean In – Women’s Leadership conference as one of the panelists within the session on Women In Law. She was provided the unique opportunity to address a diverse community of 50-100 female UC students with direct interest in this field, providing invaluable insight and exposure to opportunities.

With over two decades of successful litigation experience, Ms. Ahmed is routinely selected by clients for her negotiation skills and her creative approaches to resolution. Additionally, she has expanded her practice of workers’ compensation defense to include Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) via mediations and arbitrations dealing with Collective Bargaining Agreements and Carve-Out programs. Ms. Ahmed is a Certified Specialist, Workers’ Compensation Section, State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization. She was approved as a Statewide Arbitrator effective July 26, 2007. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Central District of California and the Supreme Court of the State of California.
