Tahmeena Ahmed is Bradford & Barthel's Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), and a Senior Equity partner. She has served as the firm’s Executive Managing Partner, Client Relations, since approximately 2012. In that role, she leads the firm's 4-person team of Marketing Directors, who benefit over 350 clients with a multi-level portfolio of resources based on over 100 years of combined workers' compensation experience.
For the past decade, Ms. Ahmed has focused on the practical management of Bradford & Barthel's extensive industry relationships. She has developed and maintains an Account Manager program at the firm which gives each client a dedicated team of attorneys that interfaces with them at all levels including claim adjusters, supervisors, branch/claims managers, brokers, reinsurance and employers. Her work ensures that proper relationships and expectations are set and met as soon as a client retains Bradford & Barthel.
Ms. Ahmed received her Bachelor of Arts degree as a member of the Honors College at the University of Illinois, Chicago where she majored in psychology. She then enrolled at California Western School of Law in San Diego where she earned an American Jurisprudence Award in Torts, an Academic Achievement Award in Employment Law, and her Juris Doctorate in 1992. After she passed the Bar, she practiced entertainment, civil, and bankruptcy law. In 1994, she joined Johnston & Auerbach as in-house defense counsel for Fremont Compensation Insurance Company.
Over the next four years, she aggressively litigated thousands of cases at Fremont, focusing on Fremont’s “zero tolerance fraud policy." In July 1998, she brought that experience and expertise to Bradford & Barthel and in December 2000 she was named Managing Attorney for the Tarzana office, and was promoted to Partner in April 2002.
During her 12-year tenure as the managing attorney, the Tarzana office flourished, growing from 2 to 24 attorneys, making it one of the largest and most experienced in the firm. Leaving behind the day-to-day operations of managing Tarzana in 2011-2012, she was named Managing Partner, Client Relations, bringing more global oversight to her role.
Recently, she was invited to be part of the UCLA 2019 Lean In – Women’s Leadership conference as one of the panelists within the session "Women In Law," where she inspired a diverse community of 50-100 female university students.
With over two decades of successful litigation experience, Ms. Ahmed is sought out by clients for her negotiation skills and her creative approaches to resolution. She has expanded her practice of workers’ compensation defense to include Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) via mediations and arbitrations dealing with Collective Bargaining Agreements and Carve-Out programs.
Ms. Ahmed is a Certified Specialist, Workers’ Compensation Section, State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization. She was approved as a Statewide Arbitrator effective July 26, 2007. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Central District of California and the Supreme Court of the State of California.
Ms. Ahmed loves devoting her time to pro bono work, her two daughters Alina and Henna, and often indulges in the well practiced arts of travel and shopping. She is fluent in Hindi, Urdu, Spanish, has enough fluency to order from a menu in French, and can read and write Arabic.
