Suraiya Syed was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2025 and focuses her practice on workers’ compensation insurance defense. As an associate at Bradford & Barthel, she represents employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation. Suraiya is recognized for her tenacious work ethic and a strategic, client-focused approach aimed at achieving favorable and efficient outcomes.
Ms. Syed earned her Juris Doctor from the Texas Tech University School of Law, where she sharpened her advocacy skills by externing with the Innocence Project and clerking for the Regional Public Defenders Office for Capital Cases. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in Wellness and Health. This academic background, combined with her focus on wellness, provides Suraiya with a unique perspective on the intersection of human health and employment law, which she leverages to offer both empathetic and vigorous representation in complex workers’ compensation matters.
Outside of her legal practice, Suraiya enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and close friends. She is an avid traveler, enjoys relaxing at the beach, and stays actively informed on current affairs. Suraiya is multilingual and speaks French, Hindi, and Urdu.
