professional bio
With nearly a quarter century of experience representing clients across a wide spectrum of legal matters, Mr. Todd Abbott brings a practical, results-oriented approach to rebutting and refuting specious workers’ compensation claims. He believes effective defense requires more than strong legal analysis and advocacy; it also demands responsiveness, clear communication, and an understanding of the business considerations that influence claim resolution. He works collaboratively with employers, insurers, and claims professionals to evaluate the facts and potential exposure associated with each claim and develop strategies tailored to the client’s objectives.
While attending California Western School of Law, Mr. Abbott embedded with the California Attorney General’s Office, Department of Medical Fraud and Elder Abuse. Following his graduation, he was offered a prestigious position with the department; however, a statewide hiring freeze placed the opportunity on hold. This propitious challenge subsequently led him to establish his own legal practice, representing clients in a broad range of matters, including criminal, civil, family, immigration, and tax law.
Mr. Abbott grew up in Southern New Jersey before relocating to California in 1994, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2000, followed by his Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law in San Diego in 2003.
Outside of his practice, Todd enjoys spending time with his children, participating in and watching sports, and traveling.
