professional bio
Deborah McPherson has a quarter century of experience defending clients. With her aggressive yet fair litigation style, she is highly respected by adjusters, employers, judges and applicants' attorneys alike.
Always looking for a challenge, most of Ms. McPherson's career has seen her dedicated to the Complex Case Unit of a major nationwide insurance carrier and its subsidiaries. Founding Partner Don Barthel observed that, when working with Deborah as a co-defendant, she was always professional, prepared and zealously defending her clients' interests. "I don't think there is a work comp related issue that Deborah doesn't know how to best defend. "Having worked as both inside and outside counsel, Deborah has insights into the mindset of all aspects and sides of workers' compensation cases.
Ms. McPherson's legal background also includes civil practice for the prestigious Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro law firm, as well as the United States District Attorney.
Deborah earned her Bachelor of Arts at Stanford University. Immediately thereafter, she attended University of California, at Los Angeles, School of Law (UCLA), graduating in 1986, whereupon she passed State Bar testing and became a California attorney in good standing.
In her spare time, Ms. McPherson enjoys kick-boxing, weight-lifting, wine tasting and off-road "jeeping" with her husband, Tim. Her family brings her great joy, particularly her three very active grandsons.
