Although a San Joaquin Valley native, Alex R. Merriam received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, San Bernardino, in 1999. He then received his Juris Doctorate from San Joaquin College of Law in 2004. In 2005 Mr. Merriam was admitted to the State Bar of California and is currently a member in good standing. Mr. Merriam has practiced as both a criminal defense and workers’ compensation defense attorney.
Mr. Merriam joined the Fresno office of Bradford & Barthel in 2010. He became a Partner in 2013, was appointed the Managing Attorney for the Fresno office in 2017, and became an Equity Partner with the firm in 2020.
Mr. Merriam is happily married and has two beautiful daughters and one handsome son. In his free time, Mr. Merriam enjoys auto mechanics, riding ATVs, and flying radio controlled airplanes and helicopters.
