David K. Lim (Dave) was born in Kalamazoo, MI and moved to California at the age of three. His family moved to Seoul, Korea, where he spent his middle school years, ultimately returning back to California for high school. Mr. Lim attended the University of California at San Diego where he was on the dean’s list and received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a minor in Philosophy. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor degree and certification as a Public Interest Scholar at the University of San Francisco, School of Law in May of 1999.
After passing the California State Bar Exam, Mr. Lim began his legal career as Staff Counsel at a national firm in the field of Federal Indian Law. During that time, Mr. Lim also lectured at Sonoma State University and at San Francisco State University focusing on Federal Indian Law and its impact on Federal and State Governments.
In 2002, Mr. Lim was approached by a law firm to help develop a workers’ compensation system in Indian Country, which began his career in workers’ compensation defense. Since then, Mr. Lim has developed extensive experience and expertise in this field and has been a partner at another workers' compensation defense firm before coming to Bradford & Barthel.
Mr. Lim has dedicated nearly twenty years of workers' compensation experience to the defense of employers, carriers and TPA's throughout Northern California. He brings to bear an aggressive style, knowledge of local attorneys and judges, and know how for accomplishing expeditious resolutions on behalf of defendants.
Mr. Lim is married to wife Nicole, and has a 20 year old daughter Jayden and 16 year old son, Skyler. He enjoys hobbies including road cycling, mud runs, working out, and snowboarding.
Mr. Lim is currently the Managing Attorney for Bradford and Barthel's Santa Rosa office.
