J. Patrick Ward, Esq.

Patrick Ward graduated from the University of Florida, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy in 1983. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Western State University College of Law 1998.

Mr. Ward began his workers’ compensation career in 2001 as a hearing representative for an applicants’ law firm. He was admitted to the California State Bar in January 2003.

Since joining the California Bar, Mr. Ward has spent the majority of his time representing defendants. He joined Bradford & Barthel in 2004 and left for a brief stint as an applicant’s attorney before returning to Bradford & Barthel in 2012. Through his work on both the defense and applicant’s side of the workers’ compensation field, Mr. Ward has developed an aggressive style tempered by a common sense approach, mindful of the true goal of cost-effective closure of claims.

Patrick Ward is a highly energetic person who enjoys a steady flow of communication with his clients. His prior experience as an applicants’ attorney gives him a unique perspective with respect to depositions, negotiations, applicant attorney tactics, and bringing cases to final settlement.

Mr. Ward enjoys spending time with his family and his two children, both embarking on their college careers. He is also a sports enthusiast and enjoys racquetball, tennis, and golf. Still an avid runner, he recently completed the 2012 Los Angeles Marathon with his son.
