David Huebner was born in Torrance, California and grew up in Orange County. However, he learned Spanish while living for two years in Barcelona, Spain. He then used his experience living overseas to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Brigham Young University, graduating cum laude in 1992. Mr. Huebner next graduated from law school at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1995 where he graduated near the top ten percent of his class. During law school, he used his Spanish skills and legal knowledge to advocate for asylum seekers attempting to escape oppressive communist regimes in Central America.
Mr. Huebner has been practicing workers’ compensation since 1995. Initially, Mr. Huebner practiced for eight years as a plaintiff’s personal injury attorney and applicant’s counsel. This experience has helped Mr. Huebner to gain a unique perspective on workers’ compensation practice. Mr. Huebner has found that his understanding of the applicant’s counsel has been useful as he aggressively pushes cases forward to resolution. Mr. Huebner has worked as a defense attorney representing major California employers since 2003. As a defense attorney, Mr. Huebner’s philosophy is to always seize the initiative by keeping cases moving quickly.
In his personal life, Mr. Huebner is an advocate for boy scouting, serving for several years as a scout master and scouting commissioner. He is an outdoors enthusiast who continues to enjoy backpacking and hiking the local mountains, which he enjoys with his wife and two daughters.
