Charles Pullen brings a unique combination of public-sector litigation experience and business leadership to the practice of workers' compensation defense in California.
Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Pullen served as a Deputy District Attorney for Shasta County for five years, where he successfully handled a broad range of felony and misdemeanor prosecutions. During his tenure, he developed exceptional litigation skills, extensive courtroom experience, and a proven ability to navigate complex legal matters from investigation through trial. His work required strategic case analysis, effective advocacy, and the ability to achieve favorable outcomes in high-stakes proceedings.
Following his service as a Deputy District Attorney, Mr. Pullen served as County Counsel for one year, further strengthening his knowledge of governmental operations, risk management, and legal compliance.
Mr. Pullen now applies his litigation background to defending employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators across the state. His courtroom experience, attention to detail, and practical approach to dispute resolution enable him to champion his clients' interests through all phases of litigation. He is known for his ability to persuasively advocate for clients while navigating the complex statutory system.
Before pursuing a legal career, Mr. Pullen built a successful track record in the hospitality, gaming, public relations, and advertising industries. He served in management positions with Caesars Palace and Caesars Tahoe, gaining valuable experience in business operations, personnel management, and customer relations. He later transitioned into the advertising industry, where he represented major resort and casino properties across multiple major U.S. markets.
In addition, Mr. Pullen established and ran his own public relations and advertising firm, representing a diverse range of private and public-sector clients, including the State of Nevada. Through this work, he developed extensive experience in strategic communications, public affairs, marketing, and client advocacy. This diverse professional background provides him with a practical understanding of employer operations, risk management, and the business challenges faced by organizations throughout California.
Beyond the office, Mr. Pullen focuses his time keeping up with his adult daughters, the older is a micro-economist and the younger is a special effects makeup artist and actress. With his dog, Dr. Jackson Avery, always by his side, he studies the art of sailing as his future lies in one day chasing the horizon.
