Having worked both sides of the California Workers' Compensation aisle, Mr. Vhal Roncesalles has valuable insights into the challenges faced by applicants' attorneys, as well as their motivations and those of their clients. Unlike the rational cost-benefit analysis typically guiding his clients, Mr. Roncesalles' knowledge of his opponents acknowledges their myriad of -- often inherently contradictory -- drives. This, along with his balanced, evidence-based approach, regularly ensures a resolution that satisfies the applicant and reviewing judge while nevertheless achieving his client's goal: an expeditious and economical file closure.
In addition to workers’ compensation, Vhal has experience in real estate, bankruptcy, and civil matters. This broad legal background strengthens his ability to evaluate cases from multiple perspectives and provide well-reasoned recommendations to clients.
Mr. Roncesballes pursued his legal career inspired by his grandfather’s dedication to public service and unfulfilled desire to become an attorney. That motivation guided Vhal throughout his legal education and into a career focused on advocacy, analysis, and practical problem-solving.
Vhal graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Business Administration and received a Leadership Award for research supporting community redevelopment following a major typhoon. He also performed pro bono for a legal aid organization in Bangor, Maine, while preparing for the New York Bar Exam. His work pertaining to the defense? against evictions under the auspices of Forcible Entry and Detainer Actions (FED) included performing advanced legal research and drafting memorandum of applicable issues, statutes, and case law for lead counsel.
Mr. Roncesballes is admitted to practice before the California State and New York State Courts, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.
Vhal is fluent in Tagalog and Bisaya/Visayan.
Outside of work, Vhal enjoys photography, filmmaking, and traveling with his family.
