Johanna Mares chose the law as her profession because she understands that legal conflicts require attorneys like herself who can develop aggressive plans of action while all the while maintaining a high level of poise and professionalism. As a defense attorney dedicated to aggressive yet creative methods for the resolution of matters on behalf of employers, TPAs, and workers’ compensation carriers, Johanna enjoys all aspects of her cases, from trials to doctor depositions to appeals.
Prior to her workers’ compensation career, Johanna sharpened her litigation and negotiation skills in her capacity as a trial attorney defending juveniles’ interests. She quickly learned how to manage the unmanageable, with daily court appearances and up to thirty new clients per week. She had a remarkable success rate and often prevailed in her efforts to reunite families.
When not litigating, Ms. Mares enjoys time with her teenage son with whom she likes to cook and view their favorite shows: “Better Call Saul” and “Breaking Bad”.
