Med-Legal Obligations and Emerging Litigation

August 15, 2017 @ 5:00 am - 6:00 am

Presented by Patrick Gorman

In an attempt to reduce the impact of liens on the Workers’ Compensation system, SB 863 created a process for review of provider invoices. In doing so the Labor Code was amended to delineate and define services provided for the purposes of treatment, and services provided for medical legal. This webinar addresses what constitutes a medical legal service, obligations by a claims professional upon receipt of an invoice from a medical legal provider, provisions within the labor code that impose penalties for a failure to meet timeliness when reviewing these invoices, and emerging areas of litigation.
