Mr. Sam G. Doost began his workers' compensation legal career as applicant counsel, handling cases for both public and private sectors.
He has represented diverse public safety employees, teachers, nurses, and other professionals across California. He is known for results-driven advocacy, problem-solving, and achieving prompt settlements.
Mr. Doost additionally excels in negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. His passion for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), combined with his extensive experience in workers' compensation and other legal areas, enables him to facilitate timely settlements, minimize litigation costs, and avoid delays. He resolves complex issues, including LC §132a claims, 4850 benefits, and WC subrogation.
Before workers' compensation, Sam gained valuable criminal and civil litigation experience in Southern and Northern California courts.
He earned his first law degree and began his legal journey in 2007, becoming a licensed foreign attorney in 2009. He has handled complex litigation at trial, appellate, and supreme court levels, including civil and criminal matters abroad. He later earned his first master’s degree from a foreign university, focusing on civil law and international commercial arbitration.
His prior foreign litigation practice included contract and construction disputes, real estate, legal malpractice, insurance claims, labor employment, workers' compensation, family law, personal injury, corporate and business law, and mediation. As a foreign-trained attorney, Sam represented both plaintiffs and defendants in domestic and international legal disputes.
Mr. Doost earned an LL.M. degree in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Business Law from USC Gould School of Law, receiving the Dean’s most prestigious academic scholarship.
He also completed advanced mediation training at USC and served as a mediator in Southern California courts while pursuing legal studies at UCLA Extension.
During his ADR degree program, he received a second prestigious Dean’s academic scholarship for a Comparative Master of Laws (LL.M.) with a focus on the U.S. legal system.
Since 2021, he has practiced as a Provisionally Licensed Lawyer under supervision in California and has been a registered Foreign Legal Consultant with the State Bar of California since 2018.
He is currently pursuing an S.J.D. (Doctor of Juridical Science) in International Law, specializing in international commercial arbitration studies at Golden Gate University School of Law. He has earned a Merit Scholarship at GGU for his academic excellence.
Outside the office, Sam enjoys spending time with his wife, hiking, going to the gym, camping, and traveling.
