Thomas L. Hathaway, Esq.

Tom Hathaway was born and raised in Driggs, Idaho with the Teton Peaks and Yellowstone National Park as his backyard playground. He enjoyed the outdoors as a Ski Patrolman at Grand Targhee in the winter and as a forest service technician on the Targhee National Forest during the summer. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and Communications at Brigham Young University where he worked as a Flight Instructor, Charter Pilot, and Corporate Pilot at Rocky Mountain Helicopters flying personnel and helicopter parts to locations across the United States. Aviation continues to be a cherished hobby!

Mr. Hathaway began his insurance experience in 1987 working as a Claim Representative and a Unit Supervisor for The Travelers Insurance Company until 1999. During this same period he completed his Juris Doctor at Western State University College of Law graduating Cum Laude in 1997. He has worked exclusively in workers’ compensation defense at both house counsel and panel firms prior to joining Bradford & Barthel, LLP. His file handling philosophy is to aggressively move the matter to resolution via settlement or trial as appropriate. He has successfully defended clients in case-in-chief trials and in lien trials.

In his personal life Mr. Hathaway is involved in the Boy Scouts of America as an Eagle Scout, and he has been a scout leader for eleven years. He is involved in his local community as an amateur radio operator for the local emergency network. He enjoys college sports, supporting his son in Pony League Baseball, water polo, and swimming. He enjoys spending time with his wife and son traveling throughout the United States and abroad. He learned to read, write, and speak Portuguese while living in Brazil for two years.
