Ronald A. Cher was born and raised in Thousand Oaks, California where he currently resides with his wife and three children.
Mr. Cher earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in history and economics from Stanford University in June, 1986. During his junior year, he studied Hebrew and Jewish history at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Upon graduating Stanford, Mr. Cher returned to Israel and studied at Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheva, Israel where he earned his Master of Science Degree in Business Management in August, 1987. Mr. Cher met and married his current wife Alison in Israel and returned to the United States in September, 1987. He then worked in the marketing department of a long-distance telephone company for about 10 months before attending law school at the University of California, Hastings College of Law. He graduated and obtained his Juris Doctor degree in June, 1991. While in law school, Mr. Cher clerked for a small bankruptcy law firm in San Francisco.
Mr. Cher’s legal career as an attorney began at a medium sized law firm in Oxnard, California. For approximately two years, he worked in the firm’s civil litigation department, representing businesses and individuals in business and bankruptcy litigation. He then worked for over 10 years for a small plaintiff oriented firm in Los Angeles, representing individuals in personal injury, medical malpractice, and workers’ compensation matters.
In October, 2004, Mr. Cher switched over to the defense and became an associate of Adelson, Testan, Brundo & Jimenez, representing carriers, third party administrators, and employers in all aspects of workers’ compensation defense. In November, 2011, he joined the law firm Bradford & Barthel. With his diverse experience in handling claims, including subrogation issues, Mr. Cher has become adept at providing his clients with sound and sensible advice in tackling and resolving claims in an efficient and cost effective manner. He also takes great pride in achieving excellent outcomes by engaging the employer early on in the claim and by paying close attention to his clients’ needs and expectations. In addition to being conversant in Hebrew, Mr. Cher is an excellent musician and an accomplished clarinet player.
