Mr. Carrico's entire legal career has involved the defense of employers, carriers, and third party administrators. Immediately after graduation from law school, he was hired by a large insurance company to represent both them and their clients. He has obtained over $500,000.00 in contribution cases and has developed skills that have helped him move cases from inception to settlement/trial including: A clear and concise communication style, impeccable writing and research skills, and, trial and settlement negotiation skills. Mr. Carrico prides himself on being responsive to his clients and his ability to move cases forward quickly. His philosophy as a defense attorney is to maintain a good rapport with judges and opposing counsel to help facilitate moving cases forward without delay.
Keane Carrico was born and raised in La Crescenta, California. Keane was raised alongside his adopted older brother from South Korea. Having a multicultural family brought out his interest in different cultures and histories. This led him to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in History at the University of California, Los Angeles, graduating with high academic honors magna cum laude in 2012. Mr. Carrico graduated from Loyola Law School.
Mr. Carrico began preparing to defend employers as early as law school. During his second year, he interned for the County Counsel of Los Angeles, Workers' Compensation Division, where he learned to draft petitions and read and rate medical reports. Mr. Carrico also took a Workers’ Compensation Law and Procedure class taught by Jerilyn Cohen (currently a judge at the Los Angeles Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board). These experiences are what made Mr. Carrico decide to pursue a career in workers’ compensation.
In his spare time, Mr. Carrico is an advocate for charity. He has grown his hair out to donate to the organization Children with Hair Loss, and he has helped raise funds for The Smith Family Foundation, I Dream of Home Rescue and Feeding America. He also enjoys traveling with his fiancé, playing with his dog Amy and his special needs (handicapable) dog Louie, and he loves spending time with his niece and nephews.
