D. Scott Dodd was born and raised in Los Angles, California. He earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in economics from the University of California at San Diego. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California.
After working for an insurance defense firm specializing in construction defect litigation in Los Angeles for a few years, and having passed the bar examinations in Hawaii and California, Mr. Dodd took a position with a Honolulu firm practicing general civil litigation. He also performed court appointed criminal defense work and conducted several jury trials.
Mr. Dodd then accepted a position as a Staff Attorney for the Supreme Court of the Federated States of Micronesia, performing judicial clerkship duties and authoring several notable decisions for the nation’s highest court.
After serving in the FSM, Mr. Dodd returned to Hawaii and worked for the litigation department of the City and County of Honolulu for ten years. He specialized in Civil Rights and employment litigation, and conducted numerous trials in federal and state court. Mr. Dodd brings his wealth of experience to Bradford & Barthel, LLP and his focus on workers’ compensation matters, including 132a’s and Serious & Willful petitions. His practice is solely committed the defense of carriers, third party administrators and self-insured employers.
Mr. Dodd and his wife Egi Tikoi have two sons. They enjoy outdoor activities such as paddleboarding, hiking, and spending time outdoors as a family.
