M. Galileo Morales is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) where he received his
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1993. He attended the University of California at Davis
Law School and received his Juris Doctorate in 2000.
After UCLA, Mr. Morales worked as an Environmental Engineer with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
in San Francisco. He assisted EPA Regional Counsel and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) with investigations
of unauthorized surface water and groundwater discharges. He coordinated field investigations of tailing dams,
tailing discharge lines, runoff collection dams and piping systems to isolate sources of groundwater contamination.
He also assisted the Department of Justice in settlement negotiations of alleged Clean Water Act violations.
After law school, Mr. Morales worked as an Assistant General Counsel to an irrigation district where assisted
with the compliance of the California Environmental Quality Act, Clean Water Act, and Endangered Species Act.
In 2005, After moving to the Monterey Bay area, Mr. Morales began working as a workers’ compensation attorney
for the law firm of Hanna, Brophy, MacLean, McAleer & Jensen. As an Associate Attorney, he represented
self-insured employers, public agencies, insurance carriers and their adjusting agencies in workers’ compensation
litigation; additionally, he represented clients in subrogation, Labor Code section 132(a) ,and serious/willful misconduct
cases. He also presented case law updates to Monterey Bay Area Public Agencies.
