Although a San Joaquin Valley native, Alex R. Merriam received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, San Bernardino, in 1999. He then received his Juris Doctorate from San Joaquin College of Law in 2004. In 2005 Mr. Merriam was admitted to the State Bar of California and is currently a member in good standing.
In law school, Mr. Merriam served as Editor-in-Chief on the San Joaquin Agricultural Law Review Board. He also became a Certified Law Student for the Public Defender's Office in Visalia. After graduation, Mr. Merriam practiced as both workers' compensation defense attorney and criminal defense attorney.
Mr. Merriam is happily married and has two beautiful daughters.
